Hubspot Implementation For Your SaaS Company: Is the Cost Worth It?

If you are familiar with HubSpot, its features and benefits, then you probably know what a game changer it has been for inbound marketers. HubSpot helps companies manage their inbound marketing campaigns more effectively and easily.

The only part of HubSpot that many treat as disadvantage is the HubSpot Pricing. However, like many products and services that cost money, you need to look not just at the dollars spent, but rather the dollars coming back and dollars that are saved thanks to HubSpot.

HubSpot customers increase day by day and there is, of course, a reason for that: HubSpot makes inbound marketing operations of companies much easier. However, this is not to say that HubSpot is beneficial for all companies.

So, how can you know if you are a good fit for HubSpot? How can you be sure that you will get high return on investment by using HubSpot? If you want your SaaS company to get full benefit and value from HubSpot, there are two criteria you should meet:

  • Your SaaS company needs to be committed to inbound marketing methodology developed by HubSpot.
  • You need to commit some time to implement the methodology and keep up to date with everything HubSpot software offers.

If you purchase the license and do not pay attention to it, it will just be a waste of money. However, if you fully use the inbound marketing methodology offered, then you will definitely get your return on investment.

HubSpot Pricing Strategy

HubSpot has three main plans for its clients: Basic, Pro and Enterprise. Although, at first sight, one can get confused because of so many differences, but it’s not that confusing when you go a bit deeper. Here are the main features that all of three packages offer: Content marketing, SEO tools, social media tools, email marketing, analytics, calls-to-action tools, lead generation tools.

SaaS companies that are new to the industry are more likely to choose Basic or Pro licenses, because these are much more affordable. Though Basic plan has some limitations in the terms of number of users, monthly visits, emails sent compares to the Pro plan, it can still be a great starting point for many SaaS companies.

In addition, the cost of implementing HubSpot also depends on the number of contacts in your HubSpot portal. Among these contacts are included your customers, past opportunities and leads and active prospects that you import into HubSpot in the beginning of implementation. The number of contacts will surely grow in the future, because you will start generating new leads with the help of HubSpot software.

The pricing strategy works like this: If you choose the Basic plan, you already have 100 contacts included in the plan, but if you want to have more, then you need to pay $100 per 1000 contacts. In Pro plan, 1000 contacts worth $50 and in Enterprise plan, 1000 contacts worth $10.

Additional Costs to Consider

Besides the monthly or annual HubSpot license your SaaS company needs to pay, there are some other costs you need to consider before implementing it:

Before getting the license, you need to pass HubSpot’s Inbound Success Training, which costs $2000. This training provides companies with important information and knowledge which is necessary in order to create a strong and profitable business partnership with HubSpot.  This training is also required if you want to become a certified HubSpot partner.

However, you can avoid paying for this training, if your SaaS company purchases HubSpot license through a certified partner agency. The reason is that in this case it is assumed that the partner agency will conduct its own training or will manage HubSpot software for the client itself.

Another cost that you might have is the migration cost. For example, if you want your website to be moved to HubSpot’s platform and you choose HubSpot to do it for you,  then you will face some migration costs. One page costs $10, so if your website has 20 pages, it will cost you $200 to migrate them.

Overall, the price you pay for HubSpot is a price for convenience. If you are not comfortable using 4 or 5 different services and you want everything in one place, HubSpot makes it possible for you. Thus, if you can afford to pay the required money for the license, if you want a step by step solution for inbound marketing strategy, if your time is valuable for you, then it is the right time to implement HubSpot for your SaaS company.
